How It All Began
Like most smokers, I began smoking when I left secondary school and went to college. It was the first time that I had the freedom to do what I pleased, the intoxicating ability to rebel against my parents. A lot of people at college smoked. It looked cool. It felt cool. I liked how smoking made me feel. I started by casually having a cigarette here or there, taking one from a friend if they offered. The single smoke here or there quickly grew to buying my own packs. Some nights I would find myself smoking the last cigarette in a pack I’d bought that very morning.

The Cover-Up
I didn’t dare tell my family I had started smoking. At age 5, I'd badgered my mum to give up the cigarettes and I couldn't bare the preaching and the general shaming she would bestow on me for starting. So I started taking 'walks'. I'd need to 'pop to the shops' or 'go to see Tony...(I didn't even know a Tony!!) with my pockets full of Double Mint chewing gum and a cheap can of deodourant. I found myself constantly thinking of when I could get out and smoke again. After sneaking around for about a month, my mother confronted me, and asked why I smelled like smoke. I had a real good excuse for that. I told her it was because I wore my jeans to a smoky bar the night before. But she knew the truth, years later she would tell me that she knew but she didn't want to believe that her 'little boy' had picked up the habit.

After that first year in college, I continued to smoke. My habit and cravings growing me in to a full-time smoker, buying at least a pack a day sometimes 2...
The Switch
When I began learning about vaping or eCigs I'd reached a point in my life where I wanted to quit for the sake of my children and for the sake of me, I'd tried and failed so many times - always making an excuse to myself like 'it was really stressful today, I deserve one' or blaming someone else for my falling off the wagon - my darling wife copped the main brunt of the blame and at the time I believed it!

I reached a breaking point - I decided that I needed to try something different I bought myself a Smok H-Priv 2 kit from my local vape shop a couple of selected juices and I haven't looked back indeed to the point now where I want to bring others into the fold and show them, how much more pleasant vaping is...fat cloudy vapes of sweet smelling deliciousness over the smell of 20 B&H whilst keeping the hand top mouth smoking action and that hit on the back of your throat I thought you could only get from cigarettes
I use my Vape all the time now...during my commute to work, and when I’m out with friends. Not having to rely on cigarettes anymore is a great feeling!
The Future
I've been off the smokes for about 6 months now and falling deeper into the rabbit hole of vaping, so this blog is my story and my thoughts and feelings about products, people, techniques and everything else that is going on in my vaping life so I hope you enjoy joining my smoky journey into wonderland!
So...that’s how I went from a heavy smoker to an beginner vaper & where I go from here. What’s your story?
